Frequently asked questions
How do I extract text from a handwritten photo?
Upload the photo in the form above, select the language it is written in, and press the recognize button. The service processes the image and returns copyable text, which you can download as TXT, DOCX or PDF.
Can OCR read doctor's handwriting?
In AI mode — often yes. It reads messy handwriting, including doctors' notes, tables, formulas and mixed layouts. Poor lighting, glare and out-of-focus shots still reduce accuracy, so photograph the page straight on.
Does it work with cursive and mixed handwriting?
AI mode is built for cursive and mixed pages: it reads connected handwriting combined with printed text, tables and formulas on the same sheet. Purely printed pages usually work fine in regular mode.
Which languages are supported?
More than 120 recognition languages, including English, Ukrainian, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Portuguese. You can select several at once for multilingual notes.
Is it free, and what are the limits?
Yes. Regular mode is free and unlimited. AI mode runs on our own GPU, so a free visitor gets up to 5 pages per day; in regions where advertising covers the costs there is no daily cap. Results are deleted automatically a few hours after processing.
